What is Dream Team DentalWe are hygienist based mobile dental program that provides preventative dental care to children preschool through 18 years of age, by setting up in a temporary clinic in their school. Our goal is to address the problem of dental access for children who are Medicaid clients or who do not have dental insurance. Our program offers preventative dental care which includes visual screening, fluoride varnishes, sealants and oral hygiene instruction. Our program does not take the place of a regular visit to a dentist. We are happy to offer referrals to local dentists who take Medicaid clients. Dental health can affect overall health and can lead to problems in eating, speaking and paying attention in the classroom. Social relationships and success later in life can be affected. Oral disease is the most chronic of childhood diseases. Poor oral health has been linked to diabetes, heart disease and other long-term health problems. The benefits of a preventive program reach everyone. Children who have healthy teeth are happier and are ready to learn. Parents are able to get their kids low cost preventive care in a convenient setting, oral hygiene information and referrals for continued dental care by a local dentist. Schools have children who are healthy, attentive, happy and with improved participation rates. Our program has been well received throughout Washington state. Recommendations from schools in the area are available. We have a memorandum of agreement with the Clark County Health Department. There is no charge to the school or facility. This partnership is available in the Evergreen, Vancouver, Woodland and La Center School Districts to Medicaid clients and those children who are low income without insurance.
